San Isidro (officially Barangay Isidro) is one of the 44 barangays constituting the municipality of Ubay, in the province of Bohol, Philippines.

The barangay's total land area is approximately 262[2] and has a population of 583[3]as of 2007. In the last 2010 National election, it has 356[4]registered voters.

It looks like an island and can be called as Islas Palmas because the mainland is planted to coconut trees and as we enter, the left and right sides are surrounded by fishponds then a coastline to San Isidro seashore which is the center portion of the Barangay. It is a mainland barangay with plain and hilly dominant characteristics and its type of soil is sandy.

Barangay San Isidro celebrates its annual fiesta every May 21 in honor of their patron saint.

Location

Located on the eastern part of the municipality, barangay San Isidro is bounded by barangay Sentinela to the north. It is bounded by barangay Tipolo to the west, to the south by barangay Union and to the east by barangay Tapal . It has approximate distance of 5 km from the town center, Poblacion.

History

Brgy San Isidro got its name from their patron saint San Isidro Labrador.

Government

There are seven puroks or units in the barangay manned by the elected kagawads including the Punong Barangay or Barangay chairman.

Its seven puroks bearing named after flowers. With regards to the goverrnance of this barangay in the year 1960 to 1968 they had Teniente del Barrio, Concepcion Boiser, then in the year 1969 it was Alfonso Cutamora to became the barangay captain. It was been followed by Fedelino Cabarubias in the year 1986 to 1989 and succeed by Dominiciano Gonzaga Sr. serving the Barangay from 1994 until 1999.
